The Long Weekend
Two to three nights · £800 per person · from Friday through Sunday or Monday
A proper introduction to the method, not a sampler. Designed so that a guest arriving on Friday evening and leaving Sunday afternoon has met three of the four Mati clinicians (GP, Ayurvedic doctor, and dietitian), has a full Sama Clinic baseline read (Nidana bloodwork, Deha DEXA scan, Kaya movement quality, Nidra sleep), leaves with a written two-week take-home protocol, and — from the Ayurvedic doctor — a personalised bodywork prescription they can book against at the Ayush Spa at any point during or after the stay.
The Sama Clinic spine, at entry depth.
Every included item below has an — click any row for what it is, why it matters, and what equipment it needs.
- Naya Mati — GP consultation with Dr Shiv Chande — thirty-minute clinical intake on day one. Medical history, medications, cardiovascular and metabolic risk factors, and the clinical framing that shapes the bloodwork readout and the rest of the weekend.
- Prakriti Mati — Ayurvedic consultation with Dr Prasanna Kerur — forty-five minutes on day one covering dosha typing, pulse diagnosis, current imbalances, and the Ayurvedic reading of what the western bloodwork will show.
- Pathya Mati — Nutrition consultation with the dietitian — thirty-minute intake with the HCPC-registered dietitian covering eating pattern, food-and-mood history, and the two-week take-home dietary protocol aligned with the guest's dosha typing.
- Nidana Tier 1 — Medilab bloodwork — Essential screening panel covering cardiometabolic, liver, kidney, thyroid, inflammation, nutrient, and haematology markers, drawn on arrival and walked through in a fifteen-to-twenty-minute Medilab clinician consultation before departure.
- Deha — DEXA scan — gold-standard body composition and bone density scan in the dedicated Deha room, run by an IR(ME)R-certified DEXA operator (per IR(ME)R 2018 the operator does not need to be an HCPC radiographer for this scanner class). The baseline every future return visit measures against.
- Kaya — Movement quality baseline — Functional Movement Screen, grip strength on a clinical dynamometer, and one 45-minute Bala training session with a personal trainer. The kinesiology scientist reads all three findings together and writes the take-home movement prescription.
- Nidra — Orion sleep tracking + auto-generated Terra sleep report — dual-zone temperature control and contact-free nightly tracking of HRV, sleep stages, breathing rate and snoring. Personal sleep report delivered at departure with a two-week home protocol.
- Hima — One to two cryotherapy sessions — whole-body LN2 chamber at −140°C, two-to-three-minute sessions delivered by a trained operator. Positioned as recovery after treatment or before evening wind-down.
- Prana — Guided contemplative practice — one 45-minute guided pranayama and mindfulness session with the yoga team, drawn from the Ayurvedic tradition. Deliberately a single technique the guest can take home and develop.
- Written Ayurvedic bodywork prescription — Dr Prasanna Kerur's suggested treatment sequence (abhyanga, shirodhara, dosha-specific bodywork) delivered in writing at the end of the Prakriti consultation. Treatments themselves are not included in the £800 fee: guests book them separately via the Ayush Spa at reservation or on arrival. Specific recommendations are surfaced only on request.
- Health coaching session — one-hour working session with the Health Coach to translate the weekend's findings into a two-week take-home protocol, plus two scheduled post-stay video check-ins.
- Sauna, steam and hydrotherapy pool — part of the evening wind-down ritual in the Ayush Spa wing.
- A Long Walk on the Jersey coast with a member of the team — guided, usually late afternoon.
- Full board at Ahara — breakfast bundled in the room rate; lunch and dinner from the longevity menu at £90 per person per night.
Where each part of the £800 actually goes.
The Long Weekend is sold as a single bundled fee — £800, all-in. Only £105 is a true third-party pass-through — Medilab's Tier 1 Essential Panel. The remaining £695 stays with the hotel and funds two blocks of hotel-delivered work: the Sama Clinic clinical spine (£255 — three of four Mati consultations, DEXA scan, Kaya movement baseline, Nidra sleep tracking, Hima cryotherapy, Prana practice) and the coaching / protocol / follow-up wrap including guided-walk transport (£70). Total hotel delivery cost: £325. Net contribution to new investment: £370 per booking — a 53% margin on the net-to-hotel residual. Ayush spa treatments sit outside the bundled fee — guests receive a written prescription from Dr Prasanna Kerur and book any treatments they want directly through the spa at retail brochure rates.
Only Medilab is a true third-party pass-through. Sama Clinic clinicians and the Wellness & Movement team are hotel-employed (see the Sama Clinic workforce table and the Staff workforce page); their time is costed at approximate fully-loaded hourly rate from the workforce salary bands. Equipment amortisation for each new item (DEXA scanner, Orion, grip dynamometer, FMS kit, cryotherapy chamber) is set out on the Equipment page. Ayush spa treatments sit outside the bundled fee — the Prakriti prescription is included; the treatments themselves are booked à la carte through the Ayush spa at retail rates. The 53% margin at the current £800 fee sits at a comfortable floor for an entry-tier programme; the Price explorer below shows what price would give a different margin.
What price does each margin imply?
Costs above are fixed: £105 of pass-through to Medilab, plus £325 of hotel delivery (full Sama Clinic clinical spine + coaching / protocol / follow-up). Ayush spa treatments are outside the bundled fee and therefore outside this calculation. The only thing that changes with a different target margin is the price the guest pays. Drag the slider.
Medical-clinic-space average for a 2.5-night stay (pro-rated from weekly all-in flagship rates at SHA, Lanserhof, MAYRLIFE, Original Mayr / Park Igls, VIVAMAYR, Palazzo Fiuggi, Chenot, and Six Senses Ibiza — all-in means programme + room + full board): ~£2,800. The Long Weekend all-in ranges from £1,575 (Tier 6 Attic Character) to £2,313 (Tier 1 Studio Suite) depending on suite tier — the range sits 17% below to 44% below the medical-clinic average. See the Competitors page.
Recommended: £800 at 53% margin — the listed price with Ayush spa treatments removed from the bundle. The removed spa pass-through recovers as clinical margin without changing the headline. Any spa treatments the guest books through the Ayush spa are billed separately at retail brochure rates and sit outside this calculation entirely.
How comprehensive the Long Weekend is against the closest available competitors.
No medical-clinic-space longevity operator sells a 2–3 night programme. SHA, Lanserhof, Palazzo Fiuggi, MAYRLIFE, Original Mayr, VIVAMAYR, Chenot, and Six Senses Ibiza all require a 5-night or 7-night minimum because their diagnostic-plus-protocol arcs need that time to run coherently. That means the closest available competitors at 2–3 nights are UK premium wellness / spa hotels — Champneys and Cliveden — which sit in a similar price band but deliver no clinical programme at all. The Long Weekend is deliberately architected to compete here: same price band, materially more clinical content, filling a segment gap that has genuine guest demand and zero operator competition.
Operational note. The Long Weekend will be capped in booking allocation to prioritise longer-stay (Pause, Reset, View) bookings. This programme is the acquisition rung of the ladder — a proper clinical introduction that converts to longer stays over time — not a volume-maximisation tier.

Two things this comparison establishes. First, at 2-3 nights the medical-clinic-space simply does not compete — the operators who deliver comparable clinical depth do so only at 5-7 nights or more. Second, the operators who do sell at 2-3 nights (Champneys, Cliveden, and similar) sit in a similar price band to the Long Weekend but deliver no clinical spine — no doctor consultation, no bloodwork, no DEXA, no Kaya movement baseline, no structured take-home protocol. Long Weekend is the only offer in the market that combines the accessible short-stay length with a proper clinical programme. Given that combination, the booking cap is a capacity-management choice, not a demand concern — for deeper like-for-like clinical benchmarking against the medical-clinic operators, see the Long Pause, Long Reset, or Long View comparison tables.
No Focus at the Weekend. By design.
The Focus architecture — the mechanism guests use to specialise the programme in Kanti (skin), Nidra (sleep), Klesha (stress and burnout), Manas (depth), Kaya (movement), Bala (performance), Agni (gut), or Upavasa (fasting) — begins at the Long Pause. The Weekend is deliberately spine-only: the core clinical inclusions delivered clearly and in full, without a chosen Focus stacked on top. A guest who wants Focus depth should book The Long Pause (up to 2 Focuses), The Long Reset (up to 3), or The Long View (up to 4). Guests who ladder up from a Weekend within ninety days receive a £250 credit against the next programme fee.
Full Focus definitions, indicative pricing (£500–£1,800 per Focus), and the shared-element deduplication rule are set out in the Focus architecture section on the Programmes overview.
How The Long Weekend would run.
A proper introduction rather than a trial size. The weekend is paced so that a guest arriving Friday evening leaves Sunday afternoon having met Dr Prasanna Kerur, slept two nights on Orion, received a personal sleep protocol to take home, and left with a written Ayurvedic bodywork prescription they can act on at their own pace. The shape below is illustrative; actual timing would be shaped by the intake. Ayush spa treatments are not included in the programme fee — guests can book any treatment at any point during the stay (or pre-book at reservation) via the Ayush Spa.
