Ayush Wellness Spa · the existing Ayurvedic operation

Ayush. Twenty years of authentic Ayurveda, in Europe.

Ayush Wellness Spa has operated inside Hotel de France since 2006 — the longest-established Ayurvedic operation in a European hotel and one of the very few outside India led by a resident Ayurvedic physician. It is award-winning, deeply respected inside the Jersey market and among the small European community of Ayurvedic-hotel operators, and it is the load-bearing asset that makes the Long Hotel repositioning possible. The Sama Clinic can be built; the Bala gym can be built; the Kitchari Kitchen and Sandhana ferment cellar can be built. What cannot be built is twenty years of practice. That is already here.

One · what Ayush is today

The existing Ayurvedic spa the whole proposition rests on.

Ayush's own positioning line — "Our combination of authentic Ayurvedic therapies and luxurious spa treatments work in harmony. Within our collection of treatments you will recognise some familiar spa therapies that have been slightly adapted to align with our Ayurvedic philosophy. Whatever your time restraints, we have developed treatments and programmes that range from a one day visit to a three week stay allowing everyone at the very least an introduction to the health restorative properties of Ayurveda."

The operation runs at two levels. On one side, a full authentic Ayurvedic menu delivered by therapists trained in the classical tradition, led by the resident Ayurvedic physician — pulse-diagnosis-based consultations, Panchakarma-derived rituals (Abhyanga, Shirodhara, Navarkizi, Pizzichill, Kati Basti, Nasya, Padaghata), Dosha-typed protocols, seasonal packages built around the classical Ayurvedic year. On the other side, familiar western spa therapies — facials, exfoliation, hot stone, Reiki, Indian head massage — reworked to align with Ayurvedic principles rather than sitting alongside them. The distinction is unusual: most European hotel spas either offer generic western wellness with a light "Ayurvedic" varnish, or run a niche classical-Ayurvedic operation that guests don't recognise or engage with. Ayush is the rarer thing — both, honestly, at once.

Treatment suites

8 treatment rooms · 4 couples suites, 4 singles. Renovation target 10–12 rooms with 5 couples suites (Renovation page).

Resident Ayurvedic Physician

Dr Prasanna Kerur leads consultations and clinical direction. Both Indian and European therapists on the team, trained across the classical and adapted menus.

Two · integration with The Long Hotel

Where Ayush fits inside the new operation.

In The Long Hotel model, Ayush stops being just the hotel's spa and becomes the Ayurvedic stream of Sama Clinic — the operational partner that delivers the tradition side of the clinical work while continuing to serve non-programme hotel guests, Discount Membership members, and Jersey retail clientele. Three specific integrations:

  • Prakriti Mati (Ayurvedic consultation) — Dr Prasanna Kerur's classical 60-minute intake becomes one of the four core Mati consultations every longevity guest sits with. Pulse diagnosis, dosha typing, vikriti assessment, written personal prescription. The Sama Clinic runs the Naya (GP) / Pathya (nutrition) / Manas (psychology) Matis alongside; Prakriti is Ayush-delivered.
  • Ayurvedic bodywork for programme guests — Ayush spa treatments are not bundled into the programme fee. A written Ayurvedic bodywork prescription (abhyanga, shirodhara, dosha-specific work) is available on request from the Prakriti Mati consultation, but it's optional: some guests want the guidance before booking, some book straight from the Ayush menu without it, and guests who've already booked a slot can choose whether to hear the recommendation or not. Treatments are booked directly through Ayush at retail brochure prices — at reservation, on arrival, or as they go. This keeps the programme fee honest as the price of clinical work, avoids the perception of a spa upsell built into the medical bundle, and lets Ayush continue to operate on its own margin as a first-class hotel department.
  • Continuity for the existing retail operation — Ayush retains its full brochure menu for non-programme hotel guests, Jersey walk-ins, Discount Membership members, and gift-voucher recipients. The renovation upgrades the treatment rooms to the Long Hotel design palette but does not disturb the operating model that has worked for twenty years.
Three · the treatment menu

Everything the current spa offers, at current retail brochure prices.

The full menu below is the May 2026 Ayush brochure — retail prices, treatment durations, and short descriptions as delivered. Under the Long Hotel model, every treatment is sold at brochure prices to every guest — including longevity programme guests, who book against their Ayurvedic prescription à la carte at reservation or on arrival. Ayush is a full hotel department operating on its own margin, not a pass-through inside the programme fee.

Authentic Ayurvedic Rituals

The classical four-hand treatments — two therapists working in perfect harmony. Delivered in the couples suites for the required footprint. Availability may be limited on weekends and Bank Holidays.

Authentic Ayurvedic Treatments

Ayush Treatments

Familiar spa treatments adapted to align with Ayurvedic philosophy — Dosha-specific oils and pressure-point work woven into western massage techniques.

Ayush La Sultane Face Therapies

Ayush Dosha Facials

Facials formulated to a specific Dosha imbalance — Vata (Ether & Air), Pitta (Fire & Water), Kapha (Earth & Water).

Four · packages & programmes

Full day, half day, sleepover, seasonal, couples, and residential.

Packages continue as-is under the Long Hotel model — they're the volume revenue-driver for non-programme hotel guests and Jersey walk-ins, and the acquisition channel that has fed twenty years of returning guests. Longevity programme guests book from the same menu à la carte, optionally guided by the written Ayurvedic prescription from their Prakriti Mati consultation if they choose to request one.

Ayush Residential Packages

Two to twenty-one days, encouraged to involve a deeper detoxification, tailored to the guest, including hotel accommodation on a bed-and-breakfast basis. These are the direct ancestor of the Long Hotel programmes — Weekend, Pause, Reset, and View are the structured evolution of what Ayush has offered as bespoke residential packages for two decades. The Long Hotel programmes formalise the residential model into named tiers, layer on the Sama Clinic diagnostic architecture (Nidana bloodwork, Deha DEXA, Kaya kinesiology, Nidra sleep tracking), and add the take-home protocol + post-stay follow-up that turns a stay into a longitudinal relationship. What Ayush has been doing informally for twenty years is now the load-bearing ladder of the whole business.

Buy Five and Get One Complimentary

A batch of any five 55-minute or 80-minute treatments purchased together receives the sixth complimentary, redeemable within 12 months. Retail incentive for repeat Jersey clients; independent of the Discount Membership membership.

Five · what changes under The Long Hotel

Renovation, capacity, and operational integration.

The Ayush operating model is not being reinvented — it is being extended. Detail on capex and phasing lives on the Renovation page; this section summarises what specifically happens to Ayush at Phase 02 launch.

  • Treatment room expansion (8 → 10, ideally 11–12). Programme-driven treatment demand at 60% year-round occupancy runs at approximately 390 person-treatments per week (see the Renovation page for the full workings). Current 8-room capacity on 7-day shift operation is ~320–360; renovation adds at least 2 rooms to reach comfortable headroom, with 11–12 as the growth target.
  • Couples suites (4 → 5). Additional couples footprint supports Long View for Two, Long Reset couples, and — critically — Four-Hand Abhyanga / Navarkizi / Pizzichill rituals which require two therapists working simultaneously on one guest.
  • Design-palette refresh across every treatment room. Finishes, lighting (2700K throughout), soft furnishings, and treatment couches upgraded to the Long Hotel palette — but the treatment room layout, plumbing, and steam infrastructure stays. This is a refurbishment, not a rebuild.
  • Consolidated wellness reception. The current separate Ayush reception is replaced by a shared Aram reception serving Sama Clinic, Ayush, Bala, and Healthhaus — operational saving on reception headcount, single unified check-in for the whole wellness journey.
  • Kanti aesthetic suite added alongside. Dr Alexa Kerr's non-invasive aesthetic practice needs a dedicated room adjacent to Ayush (HIFU / RF microneedling, hydrafacial, medical peels). Sits inside the Sama Clinic footprint but operationally adjacent to Ayush; guests move between them without leaving the wellness wing.
  • Prakriti Mati consultation formalised. Dr Prasanna Kerur's existing Ayurvedic consultation becomes the Prakriti Mati inside Sama Clinic — same clinical work, formalised into the four-Mati architecture, delivered to every longevity programme guest.
  • Retail menu unchanged, retail pricing unchanged. The full brochure above continues in operation for non-programme hotel guests, Jersey walk-ins, and Discount Membership members. The renovation strengthens the setting; it does not disturb the operating model that has delivered twenty years of returning guests.
Six · why Ayush is the load-bearing asset

What cannot be built.

Every other component of The Long Hotel proposition can be constructed given capital and time. The Sama Clinic is a hire-and-build exercise. The Bala gym is a fit-out. The Kitchari Kitchen is a joinery brief. The Sandhana ferment cellar is a small production installation. The programme structure is a design decision. Even the physical suite conversion, ambitious as it is, follows a well-understood renovation pattern.

What cannot be built is twenty years of Ayurvedic practice inside a European hotel. That is not a capex line. It is a relationship — with Dr Prasanna Kerur, with the therapist team, with the returning guests, with the Jersey community, with the classical Ayurvedic institutions in India that supply the training pipeline, with the local suppliers that keep the oils and herbs flowing. It is the piece of the proposition that a well-funded competitor could not replicate in Year 1, Year 3, or Year 5.

The Long Hotel repositioning is possible because Ayush is already here. That is the load-bearing sentence of the whole business plan.
